What your client is really trying to learn from you:
1. Self-awareness: Can you realistically assess your own performance? Do you know where you shine and where you are still learning?
2. Ownership: Do you own your results, or do you blame circumstances, management, the moon cycle, or Mercury in retrograde?
3. Understanding of impact: Can you connect what you do to the bigger picture? For example: “I do maintenance on equipment” vs “I reduce downtime so the line can keep producing at full capacity.”
4. Communication style: Are you confident, factual, and clear? Or vague, defensive, or rambling?
5. Cultural fit: Does the way you describe a “good job” match what this organisation values?
